The largest city in Hong Kong is Sha Tin, with a population of 713,836 people.

A British colony until 1997, Hong Kong is now an autonomous territory in southeast China, and officially a Special Administrative Region of China. Hong Kong has its own separate political and economic system, and it is one of the world’s largest financial centers. It has a population of 7.4 million that live in an area of just 1,104 square kilometers, making Hong Kong one of the most densely populated places in the world.

Hong Kong is divided into districts, which are drawn according to mountains, coastlines and roads. The Sha Tin district is the most populous, with 648,200, followed by Kwun Tong and Yuen Long, with populations of 641,100 and 607,200, respectively. The main business district, Central and Western, is actually one of the smaller districts in terms of population, with 244,600 residents. The Islands District is the smallest of all, with a population of 146,900 - it is comprised of twenty large and small islands in the south and southwest of Hong Kong.
