Angola Overview

The African country of Angola is the seventh-largest country on the continent, and is home to a population of around 40 million. Around 8.5M people live in the capital city of Luanda, which functions as the country’s main port due to its location on the Atlantic coast, as well as its economic and cultural center. The other main cities in Angola are significantly smaller than Luanda. Lubango is the second-largest city in the country, with a population of 920.4K. Huambo is the third-largest, with 863.6K residents, followed by Uige at 797K. Huambo is located in the central highlands of the country near the Kunene River.
