Netflix had nearly 325 million subscribers worldwide as of late 2025, making it one of the largest streaming platforms globally.
As of 2024 data, the United States leads with about 66.7 million subscribers, followed by the United Kingdom (18.4M) and Brazil and Germany (16.6M each).
Subscriber penetration varies sharply by country, exceeding 30% of the population in places like Singapore and Luxembourg but remaining below 1% in large markets such as India and Nigeria.
As of late 2025, the latest data available in early 2026, there were nearly 325 million Netflix subscribers globally, streaming TV shows, movies, comedy specials, and more through the video subscription service. This represents almost tenfold growth since 2013, when Netflix had about 35 million subscribers worldwide.
Netflix is currently available in over 190 countries. The service is more popular in some of these countries than in others. Here’s a breakdown of the most Netflix users by country as of 2024 stats.
Netflix was founded in the U.S. in 1997, so it only stands to reason that it has the most Netflix users as of 2024 data. There are about 67 million Netflix users in the country.
The U.S. is, by far, Netflix’s most profitable market. The company generated $39 billion in revenue in 2024 with about $17.3 billion coming from the U.S. and Canada region alone.
The United Kingdom is the second largest Netflix market, with about 18.4 million users. In 2024, Netflix’s UK business brought in roughly £1.85 billion (about $2.48 billion) in revenue from local subscribers.
It may come as a surprise that Brazil is the third-biggest market for Netflix. There are about 16.6 million Netflix users in Brazil. Netflix also earns substantial revenue from Latin America as a whole: in 2024, the region generated about $4.8 billion in revenue, making it one of the company’s largest international markets outside of the United States and Europe.
Netflix has only been available in Germany for a little over a decade. It has, however, already seen a huge surge in its subscriber base. Germany is home to about 16.6 million Netflix users.
Mexico has had access to Netflix for about a decade and a half. The streaming service’s popularity has soared, as Mexico has almost 14 million Netflix users.
These countries have the most Netflix users by country in 2024, but there are others hot on their heels. France has about 13.6 million Netflix subscribers (roughly 0.2% of the population), followed closely by India with 12.4 million users, though penetration there remains extremely low at just 0.01%. Japan and Canada each have around 9 million subscribers, with Canada standing out for its much higher penetration rate of 0.22% compared to Japan’s 0.07%. South Korea follows with 8.4 million Netflix users, representing about 0.16% of its population.
